Botanics Sensitive Cleasing Mousse

I bought this when I was staying at a friends when i was in need of a cleanser and the mousse aspect just drew me in. (you can buy it here online)

The first thing i noticed when i used this was the rather strong herbal scent. Sadly I'm not a fan of these 'earthier' smells and so I can't help but be put off using this, however even if herbal scents are your thing I think it's too strong for face wash - no one wants to put something that strongly scented all over their face!

As far as the mousse element which i thought was interesting, I liked how the wash felt very light on the skin even once rubbed in - I think you probably use a bit more product because of the mousse but I don't mind as you get 150ml for £3.99. But I'd call this more of a foam than a mousse as it's a little to light for a mousse

The real downside of this product for me though was how my skin felt afterwards. The scent lingered - which isn't very surprising, but it also dried my skin out making it feel very tight and leaving me feeling like I still had a light layer of product on my skin.

Overall my skin simply didn't feel clean after use and it did feel uncomforable with a scent that seemed to linger for hours. Will i be repurchasing? no. would i recomend? probably not

P.S am I in the only place in the UK without Snow?!

  9. I've tried mousse cleansers before and I always seem to find them quite drying and I suppose the strong scent of this one probably didn't help. I really like the eye makeup remover from Botanics but I think i'll be giving this product a miss xx

  12. Great review. That's disappointing that the cleanser wasn't great. Most stuff by Botanics is generally pretty good.
Where do you live? There isn't any snow here either :/ xx

  18. Great review! I honestly cannot stand when I use a product and afterwards feel as if my skin is dried out - definitely not the result I'm after. :/

  22. doesn't it suck when you buy something and ends up being disappointing? i've had my share of less than par products, so i always find online reviews first lol.

  23. I don´t usually go for facial washes which dries out the skin. Too ba dthe result was disappointing because the price was really affordable.

  24. i got waht you mean - it's more like a foam texture than mousse :)! sorry it didn't work for you though!

  25. It's not easy to find a good cleansing product, I find. I'm not really willing to spend oodles of money on a cleaner, but it mustn't be drying or bad smelling either. I think one of my favourites was Eve Lom's - but waaayy too expensive, sadly.
P.S. The snow has left us, too.

  26. hi darling! i prefer cleansing products from the pharmacy too. they have this great brand in scandinavia called aco/cosmica that have really price worthy good products..see that this is bought in a boots store.. i miss that store! i need me some blue eye drops.. they don't have that in sweden.
hope you're having a good week dear
