The Lip Product Tag

I've seen a few of these on various blogs and youtube, are there seem to be a ton of different questions with everyone sporting their own list! So I've done a bit of a combination of a few different lists.
1. Favourite balm or treatment?
I'm very low maintenance when it comes to lip care, which is bad. But I hate feeling like I have stuff on my lips so treatments are out the window since I only do a lip scrubs once in a blue moon. I'm going to be boring and go for my EOS Lip balm.

2. Favourite eye catching Red/Bright
This has got to me Mac Russian Red. It's a lovely matte red that's just deep enough to make it easy for me to wear.

3. Favourite Pink Lipstick
This is strange, but I rarely wear pink lipstick. I just haven't found one that really suits me. The only 'pink' lipstick that I've kept in my clear out is Mac Viva Glam Gaga as I do like to keep a pink on hand

4. Favourite Nude Lipstick
I am not a nude lipstick person. Oh I've dabbled with them, bought more than I can count but I've never worn one more than once or twice before dismissing it. Nudes just do not suit me.

5. Luxury or Drugstore?
Buying a luxury lipstick just makes me feel pressured - if you get a bad shade then you've shelled out all that money for something you'll never use (speaking from experience here with YSL 24..) So Drugstore all the way… although that depends where we're putting mac as I always think of mac as somewhere in between
6. Best Mac Lipstick
I do love my mac lipsticks so picking one is just hard!

7. Favourite Gloss
This is another easy one. I'm really not a lipgloss person, I just never wear them reaching for lipsticks over a gloss any day. But I recently bought a Buxom gloss in Sugar and I'm hooked. It tingles when applied which I usually hate but for some reason it stops it feeling so heavy - heavy gloopy, sticky glosses are my idea of a nightmare.

8. Favourite Spring/Summer shade
Honestly, once the weather warms up it's tinted lip balms all the way. And if I'm being honest the one I reach for most is vaseline rosy lips. Boring I know, but you just can't beat that slight wash of colour

9. Favourite Autmn/Winter shade
Benefit Do Tell. This was another one I only had to contemplate for a moment or two as do tell instantly sprung to mind. It's the perfect winter colour for me adding some drama to your look while staying creamy despite frigid temperatures.

10. Lip Liner: yes or no?
i want to say yes, but i never, ever use one. I'm actually guilty of

Sally Hansen Lip Inflation

This is one of those products I’ve been meaning to write a review of for months and months but for some reason I never got around to it but here you go :)Sally Hansen is mostly known for her top quality nail products but this brand does have some cosmetics and beauty items such as this lip plumper.

First thing I should say is this isn’t one of those incredibly painful lip-plumpers where it feels like your lips are on fire, instead there is a very mild kind of tingling but it’s very slight and I know some people don’t even feel it working!
(Top Left, Before lipgloss, Top Right, Straight after application, Bottom Left, after about 10-20 minutes, Bottom Right, After 30 minutes)

Hopefully you can see above that the gloss is pretty much clear and starts working almost straight away and the ‘plump-ness’ lasts pretty well as I still think my lips are slightly bigger even after an hour. As far as actually lasting power I found it started disappearing after about an hour so a little bit longer than you average lipgloss.
.
Have any of you tried this lipgloss?
Or do you have any lip plumping suggestions??

Hope you've enjoyed!! x

Night Out Essential!

I got this a few weeks ago in the AVON sale
(I’m pretty sure it’s still available on their website though).
I tried it last night and I just had to blog about it – it’s the perfect night out necessity!!
This product has three beautiful quality lip products in this one little tube so you can just pop it in your clutch and you’re sorted for all your touch ups.
(left-Right: LipLiner on it's own, Lipstick on top and all three together!)
This would also be great if you want to take your daytime make up into the night quickly as the lip liner is great for during the day and then you can just apply the lipstick and gloss to instantly make your lips into a statement!

The three products you get are:
All are surprisingly good quality and are designed to be long lasting both together and on their own!

I picked this up in the shade ‘berry’ because I thought this would be the perfect substitute for a red lip which I always think is impossible to really maintain but there are enough shades that you’re bound to find something to suit you!
(This is what the colour looks like in slightly harsher light)
Aside from how perfect this is to throw into your back and have everything you need all three products love lovely on there own!

Have any of you tried this product yet?
Hope you’ve found this useful!! x

Bella by Calvin Klein

I mentioned this lipgloss back in my February favourites and I’m still loving it just as much!
I had never heard much about calvin klein’s make up range so when I picked this up I wasn’t expecting anything amazing – it was purely the colour which drew me in – a pretty rosy pink with some mauve undertones which makes it wearable for just about everyone. It also has some slight shimmer in it which just adds a little bit of dimension.
(straight after application)
But, after using this for months it’s not the colour which makes this one of my ultimate favourite lip glosses it’s the texture and longevity.
(This after an hour and half after applying)
This is completely none sticky, in fact it feels really creamy and incredibly hydrating!
(after 2 and a half -3 hours)
Hopefully you can see, that although the lipgloss and worn off and faded it hasn’t clung to any dry skin and it’s faded really evenly with my lips still having a glossy finish and a wash of colour :)
The packaging of their lipglosses are also really pretty with the Calvin Klein logo on the top and a brush applicator which I always think makes applying the gloss alot easier!

Calvin Klein cosmetics are a little bit difficult to get hold off however you can order them Amazon as well as their official store

Have any of you tried any Calvin Klein Cosmetics?
Hope you've enjoyed!! x

February Favourites 2011

I know I don’t do favourites every month but I discovered (and rediscovered) some really lovely products this month and I wanted to share with you how much I loved them!

Calvin Klein lipgloss in 212 Bella
I think I’ve mentioned this one before as I keep meaning to do a whole post on this lipgloss as I really love it. But put simply this is a gorgeous colour that isn’t too strong to wear during the day with a really creamy texture that makes your lips look really pretty!

Bobbi Brown long-Wear Gel Liner in Black ink
This is one of those products everyone seems to have tried and loved and I’ve got to say I haven’t been disappointed. I wear this near enough every day, and have been for the past 4 months and I have barely made a dint in this little tub!!

Trilogy energising face lotion
There will be a review on this and Trilogy’s face wash within the next month, however this has become my favourite moisturiser – my skin feels hydrated but not greasy and I swear it’s been a large reason for why my skin hasn’t been feeling dry despite the harsh weather!

Dior Skin sculpt concealer
For a concealer this is a little pricey but you only need 3 little dots under each eye and your under eyes are concealed and kept hydrated all day – again I’m planning to do a full review on this little tube I love it that much!

Smashbox blush in Famous
I’ve been eager for spring this past month and really wanted to be adding some warmth into my skin tone and this is the perfect everyday blush that compliments most skin tones! This was the first smashbox product I tried and at first I didn’t see what the fuss was about after a few months of trying it out though this really is a great staple item – the sort of thing I’ll repurchase time and time again because I know it’ll work for any look!

Hope you’ve enjoyed!! x

Mayfair

I’m not really a big fan of lip glosses as they often just feel heavy and sticky – even if they do look lovely. But eyeko tends to run quite a few promotions and a few weeks ago they offered a free lipgloss when you spent over £15 - they're normally £6.50. Well I picked up a few bits that I’d been meaning to try for a while and I got Mayfair for free(Mayfair was actually my favourite colour out of their range!)
You get 13.5g and it comes in a clear squeezy tube with the classic eyeko art printed around it. The packaging isn’t anything fancy but I’d much prefer to have simple packaging like this with a little bit of a twist instead of paying extra for sleek packaging.
As far as the product it self goes it’s quite a thick, creamy gloss which actually has quite a bit of pigmentation. Mayfair is a really wearable colour as it’s in between a rosy nude and a mauve- I’ve tried this over a few lipsticks and it always looks lovely as it can provide a pretty wash of colour over nudes and alternatively it can add some depth to darker colours.
This is what it looks like on its own and personally I love it :) it’s not in your face and it’s just so wearable - it smells fruity too which is an added bonus! (It’s also just the right size to pop in your purse to reapply throughout the day)

P.S Mayfair is apparently limited edition so you want to try this colour out you might have to rush and order on their website xx
