It's over

It's been a 3 year love affair but I think it might be officially over.
Well… for now anyway, I'm a fickle soul when it comes to make up.

Gel Eyeliner was something I fell madly in love with the very first time I applied my Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black Ink. It glided on, instantly opaque and because you could choose your bush you have complete control over the process. Cat-eyes and all sorts of winged looks suddenly were so easy to achieve, and I've continually repurchased all these years.
While I was home I picked up this liquid liner pen purely because there was some offer going on and now, with my gel liner drying up with no where to repurchase, I've suddenly remembered how much I love liquid. There's no brushes to clean (one of the baines of my life), it dries so much quicker, you can get an incredibly fine line with the tiny tip and you don't have to constant redip your brush while doing your make up. It might seem like a tiny thing but opening the pot, closing it, applying half your liner and then having to open and close it all over again to stop the liner from drying out is a bit of a pain.
This certainly isn't the best liner out there, if I remember rightly L'Oreal has an amazing one, and I think I've heard mumblings of Soap and Glory having a pretty decent one too. I can't wait to get my mitts on some different liner pens as they are undoubtedly becoming a staple.

I'm particularly loving to draw on a tiny line with a mini flick in the outer corner with a dark brown smudged along the last line to soften the look. I just think it instantly looks like you've put effort into your make up!

Can't wait to try some others namely Smashbox Limitless Liner, Dior Addict It Liner, YSL Moire, and Soap & Glory Supercat liner!

Bronze-Golden FOTD

(I know I need to work on the title of these posts.. I'm working on it!)
I wasn’t planning on posting any more EOTD or FOTD unless I was going out or decided to do something a little bit different but a friend actually commented on this look so when I got home I decided to take a few pictures for you :)
I used..
Mac Honey Lust (I used this little eyeshadow trick) all over the lid
Urban decay Honey in the centre of the lid for some dimension
Urban decay Twice Baked and Shag through the crease
And as always Urban Decay Yeyo as a highlight!

For eyeliner I used my Bobbi brown gel liner in black
(I can’t say enough g
ood things about this!)
Rimmel’s sexy curves mascara :)
(I didn't do anything with my brows, I just left them natural)

If you’re curious about what I wore this with well..
I wore Clinique redness solutions foundation 01
Diorskin sculpt concealer 01
Benefit sugarbomb blush
Prestige 03 pure shimmer highlighter
& I just put some burts bees lip balm on my lips.

Hope you’ve enjoyed!! x

February Favourites 2011

I know I don’t do favourites every month but I discovered (and rediscovered) some really lovely products this month and I wanted to share with you how much I loved them!

Calvin Klein lipgloss in 212 Bella
I think I’ve mentioned this one before as I keep meaning to do a whole post on this lipgloss as I really love it. But put simply this is a gorgeous colour that isn’t too strong to wear during the day with a really creamy texture that makes your lips look really pretty!

Bobbi Brown long-Wear Gel Liner in Black ink
This is one of those products everyone seems to have tried and loved and I’ve got to say I haven’t been disappointed. I wear this near enough every day, and have been for the past 4 months and I have barely made a dint in this little tub!!

Trilogy energising face lotion
There will be a review on this and Trilogy’s face wash within the next month, however this has become my favourite moisturiser – my skin feels hydrated but not greasy and I swear it’s been a large reason for why my skin hasn’t been feeling dry despite the harsh weather!

Dior Skin sculpt concealer
For a concealer this is a little pricey but you only need 3 little dots under each eye and your under eyes are concealed and kept hydrated all day – again I’m planning to do a full review on this little tube I love it that much!

Smashbox blush in Famous
I’ve been eager for spring this past month and really wanted to be adding some warmth into my skin tone and this is the perfect everyday blush that compliments most skin tones! This was the first smashbox product I tried and at first I didn’t see what the fuss was about after a few months of trying it out though this really is a great staple item – the sort of thing I’ll repurchase time and time again because I know it’ll work for any look!

Hope you’ve enjoyed!! x

Valentine's Day

I always think valentine’s Day should be about using make up to just play up your natural beauty, I see lots of people going all out using Valentine’s day as an excuse to wear the classic bright red lipstick. Which isn’t a bad thing but this look is so much simpler and, I think, prettier– it’s all about lightly enhancing your features!I kept my eyes pretty simple using;
Urban Decay’s eye primer potion
GOSH’s lilac shadow stick on the outer half of the lid – you want this to provide the suggestion of lilac and purples, try not to use too much
A light shimmery white shadow all over – MUA 01
Then just take a matte light brown, such as smashbox demure and run it lightly through the crease for some light definition. The real focus of the eyes are the lashes and the liner – I don’t tend to wear false lashes so I kept mine quite small and nothing over the top.
I used Bobbi Brown’s gel liner in black and went for something in-between and cat eye and winged liner – just go for whatever suits your eye shape!
I really wanted the skin to glow in this look so I applied eyeko’s cream as a base to provide some pretty shimmer and then just wore Clinique supermoisture foundation– this has the same sort of coverage as a tinted moisturiser!
I paired this will a cool-toned blush, I used a mix of Clinique iced lotus and Mac’s two virtues. I didn’t contour as I think, particularly during the day, it can be too harsh and it’s difficult to find the right shade (I see so many girls having orange stripes down their cheeks :/)
And finally to finish it off I just used a light baby pink like Mac’s viva Glam Gaga :)

Hope you’ve found this useful for ideas :)
