I think it’s fair to say the weather this summer has been a bit rubbish in England - It started off well with June being gorgeous and then it’s steadily gone down hill! So to cheer myself up while dismal rain clouds are looming overhead I did some fun, bright and most importantly SUMMERY nails :)
I just wanted something warm, fun and simple. I used Barry M Yellow, Fuchia and Red and quickly did stripes of them, roughly on my nail. I applied each colour while the previous polish was wet and I got this effect!
After a few days of the tropical look I applied a thin coat of a white polish.
Once it was dry I simply took some nail polish remover and ta-da, a completely different look!
Let me know what you think of both of these looks and whether you’ll be giving either a go!
Hope you’ve enjoyed!! x P.S I know these slightly messy looking nails aren't for everyone but I quite like them as a change from my usually neat nail art!
Every so often I get bored with cute, elegant or edgy nails and quite simply I want something a little bit tacky – we all have bright pink sparkly craving every now and again! And this is how I have my nails when I want something bright and girly which never fails to brighten up my mood! How can you be feeling down when your nails are screaming Barbie and summer? . I use Barry M Fuchsia and then applied two coats of Models Own Magenta Divine. I got magenta divine originally because I expected it to be like their champagne with is an opaque glitter however I love this look enough to forgive it for being a bit sparse on the glitter front . What’s your favourite thing to do when you need a little ‘pick-me-up’? Hope you’ve enjoyed!! x P.S I took these photos a while ago back when I decided to chop off my nails so I could show you a few nail art designs suitable for short nails!
I love my blushes. I’ve never had a problem with needing to inject colour into my cheeks but for some reason blushes always call to me and I have quite a few now. With my most recent addition being Pink Passion from E.L.F’s Studio line blushes
As you can see it’s an incredibly vibrant almost neon pink in the pan. And it’s a colour I have absolutely nothing like in my collection. I wouldn’t normally go for something like this however because it’s quite cool toned I love how this looks with a tan just on the very apples of my cheeks to add a pretty contrast. Once swatched it isn’t as scary although its still quite bright it looks a little bit more like a baby doll pink.
I’ve only worn it a handful of times as it’s obviously not one that you can just throw on with anything. As far as the formula goes it’s a little chalky in comparisons to the other two blushes I own from this collection (peachy keen and twinkled pink both of which are gorgeous) But with a colour like this your obviously going to do a fair amount of blending and it does blend seamlessly without leaving a powdery look.
Would I recommend? I would if you’re after a bright colour but don’t want to spend a lot as you won’t be wearing it every day! Hope this has been helpful!! x P.SI just want to briefly mention E.L.F have a 3 different collections. + The Normal Line where everything is £1.50 ($1) + The Studio Line where everything is £3.50 ($3) + The Mineral line where things vary from £3 (US prices seem to vary)
I was playing around with my 180 palette the other day and I decided to make use of some really pretty shimmer sea foam green colours and I really love how this looks and it’s incredibly easy so anyone could recreate this look! I just applied a gorgeous shimmery green all over the lid and crease area then applied a slightly moreblueshadow as exagerated cat-eyeliner and blended really well :)
Something like this would look beautiful with false lashes but for me I thought my natural ones would do as the colours really are the focal point of this look and I didn’t want anything to distract from them :) Hope you’ve enjoyed!! x (This is another quick little post, but I've got some longer ones coming up - do you prefer these short ones or my longer ones? or a mixture of both?)
Colour Blocking was all over the catwalks this season and I love how it looks and the other day while thinking about what to wear I decided to do my own version of colour blocking on my eyes :)I went for a bright blue (Urban Decay's Peace) all over the lid and tried to create a very definite and sharp eye shape with a bright pink (Barry M's 85 - Neon Pink) all around the edges.
To finish up I applied a strong black cat-eye liner and lots of mascara! Let me know what you think – Hope you’ve enjoyed!! x P.S I’ve reached 400 followers!!!
When I did my abstract nails the other day I was really in the mood for bright colours and that’s what prompted this little look – I also realised I’d never done a bright green make up look! I decided after finishing this look that I wanted to add some crazy long, exaggerated false lashes! I never wear false lashes but I just felt this look could deal with them and I love them :) I always went for very strong, thick black eyeliner just because for some reason I always think green can lack definition and on the few occasions I wear it I feel like I need something strong to balance it out!
I just wanted to share these pretty abstract nails I did this morning! I normally stick with cute and pretty nail art designs but I fancied doing something a little different today with lots of bright colours – what do you think?
Surprisingly this was just as easy as a lot of my other designs this one is just more time consuming as there are quite a few steps and you need to wait for each colour to dry before moving on! Would any of you wear something like this? Hope you’ve enjoyed!! x P.S would anyone be interested in a little tutorial of how I did this?
Bright colours have been all over the catwalk this season and I really wanted to do a pretty colourful look the other day when the sun was shining so this is what I came up with :)When I did this I wasn’t expecting this to be wearable it was done to be a little bit editorial. But once I did this it was actually really pretty and kind of wearable, I’d definitely wear this with the colours a little bit more muted!Hope you like it!! x
